Hungry minds and eyes seek entertainment and understanding. All art on this site reflect an instinctive consideration of nature – both Mother Nature and human nature.
Working in a wide variety of materials and combining them is our passion. Material often dictates form and subject matter. The flowing of fire and glass and smoothness of clay, the durability of stone, the malleability of metal, express the ideas explored.
A tiny hand carved alabaster foot evolved from the rich beauty of Colorado Alabaster, complete with veins of pink through lighter pink stone.
Note the Chasing and Repoussee fine silver Iris, the copper bee, both hammered with hand forged steel tools, an ancient form of metalwork still revered in this time of fast and plastic. The energy that goes into this work feels like music, witnessed by the rhythmic application of the chasing hammer. The tutelage of Elizabeth McDeavitt, goldsmith, Kim Hall, jewelry instructor, and master Repousse artist Valentin Yotkov instilled passion for metalwork.
Colors, form, repetition, movement and light appear in all we do.
